David started his working life in the RAF and worked his way up to become a communications systems analyst. The skills, experience and discipline he learnt whilst in the services has put him in good stead for his legal practice. After leaving the services, David studied law, graduating in 1997. David started his legal career and qualified as a Solicitor with a well-known Plymouth firm.

In 2010, he became a co-founder of Roper James Solicitors, a specialist personal injury firm, with a particular speciality in noise induced hearing loss claims. David was delighted to be part of the merger of Roper James and Thompson and Jackson Solicitors in 2026.
